1. The cat
Siberian Tale (the "Cattery") agrees to sell, and the buyer agrees to purchase, one (1) Siberian kitten as identified in the appendix to this agreement, registered with The International Cat Association (TICA).
2. Price and payment
The purchase price is $2,300 CAD plus 5% GST. A non-refundable deposit of $200 reserves the kitten. The balance of $2,215 is due at pickup, payable by e-transfer or cash.
3. Pickup at twelve weeks
The kitten will be released to the buyer no earlier than twelve (12) weeks of age. By that point, the kitten will have completed early spay/neuter, FVRCP vaccination series, deworming, and microchip placement.
4. Buyer's obligations
The buyer agrees:
- To keep the cat indoors only. Catios and harness-supervised outdoor time are acceptable.
- To never declaw this cat. Soft Paws, scratching posts, and nail trimming are the acceptable alternatives.
- To provide regular veterinary care including annual checkups and core vaccinations.
- To feed an age-appropriate, complete-and-balanced cat food.
- To not breed this cat. The kitten is sold as a pet, already spayed or neutered.
- To not resell, rehome, or surrender this cat without first contacting the Cattery.
5. Health guarantee
The Cattery guarantees that the kitten is free of congenital and genetic defects at the time of pickup. If a licensed veterinarian determines, within twenty-four (24) months of pickup, that the kitten suffers from a congenital or hereditary condition that materially affects its quality of life, the Cattery will, at the buyer's option:
- Replace the kitten with one of equivalent value from a future litter, OR
- Refund the purchase price upon return of the kitten.
6. Vet check requirement
The buyer must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within seven (7) days of pickup. Failure to do so voids the health guarantee.
7. Take-back guarantee (lifetime)
If at any point in the cat's life the buyer cannot or chooses not to keep her, the cat must be returned to the Cattery. No fee will be charged, but the original purchase price is not refunded.
8. Hypoallergenic claims
The Cattery makes no guarantee that the buyer will not have an allergic reaction to this kitten. Siberians produce less Fel d1 than average cats, but individual reactions vary. The Cattery encourages in-person allergen testing prior to purchase.
9. Governing law
This contract is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
We sell you a healthy kitten. You agree to keep her indoors, never declaw, and bring her back to us if things change. We guarantee her health for two years against birth defects.
